As part of the agreement on partnership in the field of training between IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division and "National Research University "MPEI" in the city of Smolensk externship of students of the specialty "Power and Electrical Engineering" was launched in September. Until the end of January 2017 during their pre-diploma practice at Smolenskenergo future masters will learn about the main activities of IDGC of Centre, prospects of development of the energy sector of the country, acquire necessary skills for future work. The practice will take place under the guidance of experienced professionals ready to answer any production issues.
In late October 2016, a group of students from Smolensky Polytechnic College under the profession "Electrician for repair and maintenance of electrical equipment" was taken for practice in the branch. During 2 months before the end of the year they will have their pre-diploma practice directly in production, in Distribution Zones of the branch. In its course the future power engineers will be able to acquire practical skills in the profession.
According to power engineers of the branch, close cooperation of the branch with the energy specialized educational institutions - it is a necessary element in the formation of personnel reserve of the company and the entire industry, and the practice in the production helps "notice" and select talented and promising graduates, who later will be able to join the ranks of the branch staff.
In order to provide better training, recruitment and staff development the branch concluded agreements on long-term cooperation with a number of educational institutions in the region - Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "National Research University "MPEI" in the city of Smolensk, Regional State Budget Professional Educational Institution "Smolensky Polytechnic College", Regional State Budget Professional Educational Institution "Vyazemsky Polytechnic College", Regional State Budget Professional Educational Institution "Vyazma Railway Technical College", Regional State Budget Professional Educational Institution "Safonovsky Industrial-Technological College". For students of all educational institutions the branch organizes taking industrial and pre-diploma practice in structural units with recruitment of graduates to work at the branch.
