Kurskenergo held the first competitions of professional skills of drivers

IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division held its first competitions of professional skill of drivers. They were attended by teams of the Central, Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern sections of the branch consisting of three persons: the head and drivers of passenger vehicles and trucks.

The competitions were held in order to assess and strengthen the professional training of driving personnel, promotion of road safety, application of new forms and methods of work aimed at reducing the number of incidents, accidents and road accidents. Their program consisted of six stages: three theoretical and three practical. The theoretical ones included the test of knowledge of traffic rules and the Code of Administrative Offences, specifications and technical documentation of work and fire safety, as well as skills to provide first aid to victims of industrial accidents and road accidents. In the practical part the drivers demonstrated their skills in driving cars and trucks, consistently performing a series of exercises ("slalom", driving on the circle forward and reverse, passing a clearance gage, driving into a garage and others), as well as in the speed of replacement of vehicle wheels. The professionalism of the participants was assessed by the main panel of judges, composed of heads of production and technical services of the branch of Kurskenergo.

At the end of the competitions the first place was taken by representatives of the Western section, the second went to the Central section, and the third - the Northern section of Kurskenergo. A driver of the Western section Alexander Korostelev was recognized the best in driving a passenger vehicle. He was the first at the stage of testing knowledge of traffic rules and the Code of Administrative Offences. Among truck drivers the winner was a representative of the Central section Valery Gusev. The winners were awarded Certificates of Merit of the enterprise and valuable gifts.

Summing up the contest day, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division director Alexander Rudnevsky noted that the held competitions made it possible not only to determine the best drivers, but also to identify a number of bottlenecks of their training, the heads of departments will need to work to eliminate that. Now they will be held regularly. This means that Kurskenergo will have another good tradition.
