IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division is ready for the autumn-winter operation period of 2016-2017

5 October 2016 IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division held a meeting of the Commission on preparation for the autumn-winter operation period and the ceremonial presentation of the Certificate of Readiness for the autumn-winter operation period of 2016-2017 – the main document of the power company confirming the availability to work during autumn-winter peak loads.

Work carried out during the past period was estimated by the commission consisting of representatives of IDGC of Centre, a branch of PJSC "SO UES" Smolensk Regional Dispatching Office, the regional offices of Rostekhnadzor and EMERCOM of Russia. After analyzing the quality and scope of measures, checks and exercises, repairs, the commission members acknowledged the readiness of Smolenskenergo to operate through the winter. Chairman of the Commission - First Deputy General Director-Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin handed the Certificate of Readiness to the branch director Sabir Agamaliev.

The Commission noted that the work of Smolensk power engineers was performed in accordance with the plans, the branch fulfilled all to obtain the certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter operation period. The members of the Commission wished to employees of the company to pass the winter without natural disasters and with reliable operation of equipment.

Preparing for the autumn-winter operation period is a complex, stressful, expensive and responsible process, which begins in the spring already. The set of measures includes not only technical, but also actions for training of personnel, including emergency response drills to simulate actions in emergency response at low temperatures. The receipt of this document officially confirms that Smolensk power engineers performed all the necessary work to prepare for the winter and should successfully and smoothly operate in the cold.

According to the power engineers, uninterrupted and reliable electricity supply in the Smolensk region, first of all, depends on efficiency of electric grid equipment of Smolenskenergo. Thorough preparation, carried out by the branch, should contribute to successful entry into the autumn and winter operation period, smooth operation of industrial plants, communication systems and utilities, water supply, transport, work of educational and medical institutions, and other social facilities of the Smolensk region.
