06.10.2016

As part of the "Energy Saving Week" at the end of September 2016 specialists of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division conducted a series of lessons on energy saving for 150 pupils of school # 33 of the city of Smolensk. Since the beginning of the new school year the power company has resumed holding classes on energy saving in educational institutions of the region.

Smolenskenergo’s power engineers told the children about the simple and basic energy-saving measures that are available to everyone and can be applied in everyday life. The lessons were held in the form of a fascinating journey into the fabulous energy-saving country. During a virtual journey through extraordinary cities of that country, along with popular cartoon characters, the children learned how to use household appliances, use water rationally, keep heat in the winter in the apartment and in the classroom.

"The Energy Saving Week is an excellent opportunity to once again tell the children about energy-efficient technologies, ways of energy saving at home and at school," explained an engineer of category 2 of the energy saving and energy efficiency office Anastasia Kulachenkova.

IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division pays considerable attention to the issue of promotion of energy saving among children and schoolchildren. In 2014 IDGC of Centre approved a guidance on promotion of energy saving and energy efficiency. On the basis of the guidance, starting in September 2014, Smolenskenergo regularly conducts energy-saving lessons in schools of the city and the region.
