"Lipetskenergo" is ready for the upcoming autumn-winter operation period

Readiness of IDGC of Centre – Lipetskenergo division for the upcoming autumn-winter operation period of 2016 – 2017 was confirmed by a special commission composed of representatives of IDGC of Centre, Upper Don Office of Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision of the Lipetsk region, a branch of JSC "SO UES" Lipetsk Regional Dispatching Office, EMERCOM of Russia in the Lipetsk region and the Office of Energy and Tariffs of the Lipetsk region. Documentary evidence of the quality, timeliness and completeness of measures taken was the "Certificate of Readiness", which was presented to Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Lipetskenergo division director Alexander Glebov at the final meeting held 5 October.

This year, the focus in preparation for work in the autumn-winter period was given to fulfillment of the repair program, performed annually in order to maintain the reliability of equipment operation, prevent technological breakdowns, ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers during the period of peak demand. The power company carried out major overhaul of 11 power transformers of 35-110 kV, 110 distribution and transformer points, 43 circuit breakers and 44 disconnectors in substations. It repaired 870 km of overhead power lines (power lines) of different voltage classes. It replaced 7,471 insulators. To reduce the number of cases of outages of 0.4-110 kV overhead lines (Conductors) due to tree branches falling onto wires it performed work on clearing ROWs along the lines from shrub and tree seedlings in an area of ​​323.8 hectares. 171.8 hectares of ROWs were extended to normative values​​. 140 million rubles were spent on implementation of measures of the repair campaign.

An integral part of the branch activity to improve the system reliability of Lipetsk energy facilities was events carried out within the framework of the investment program. According to it by the end of the year the power company will reconstruct more than 530 km of power lines and put into operation 108 MVA of transformer capacity in the amount of 186 transformer substations. The amount of funds allocated for new construction and reconstruction of power equipment will be 1.6 billion rubles.

Much attention in the preparation for the autumn-winter operation period was traditionally paid to work with operating staff, professional development of specialists. To this end, "Lipetskenergo" performed special safety measures, including additional training, briefing of staff to work in emergency situations under low temperature conditions. It checked provision of crews with tools, uniform, protective equipment. Together with the regional EMERCOM units, municipal administrations emergency response drills in the aftermath of major technological disturbances in electric grids were organized. Interaction with the regional headquarters of electricity supply security was set.

For rapid response to possible technological disturbances the branch keeps available 117 first responding and restoration crews, provided with necessary special equipment, comprising 587 people and 190 all-terrain and special vehicles. Including 9 mobile crews composed of 65 people and 26 vehicles, ready if necessary to arrive as soon as possible in any branch of IDGC of Centre to participate in first responding and restoration work.

Each Distribution Zone of the branch is provided with redundant power supply sources intended for emergency power supply to consumers in an event of technological violations at the time of restoration work in grids.

"Conglomerate of work of power engineers and the executive authorities in the territory of the Lipetsk region gave us the opportunity to get the Certificate of Readiness. And we need to prove this certificate with honour! The team of "Lipetskenergo" is ready for it, and the well-built in PJSC "Rosseti" vertical of power will allow us to effectively manage necessary resources," commented Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Lipetskenergo division director Alexander Glebov.
