Kostromaenergo is ready for autumn-winter peak loads

IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division held a meeting of the interdepartmental commission to assess the readiness of the enterprise for the autumn-winter operation period. According to the results Chairman of the Commission-Deputy Chief Engineer for Development and Innovation of IDGC of Centre Dmitry Rybnikov handed the Certificate of Readiness for the autumn-winter operation period of 2016-2017 to Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division director Evgeny Smirnov - the document confirming its availability to operate during autumn-winter peak loads.

The Commission, composed of representatives of IDGC of Centre, a branch of PJSC "Rosseti" - "Technical Inspection Centre", a branch of JSC "SO UES" Kostroma Transmission Control Centre, the Department of Energy, Housing and Utilities of the Kostroma region, the Department of State Power Inspection for the Yaroslavl and Kostroma Regions of Central Office of Rostekhnadzor and General Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia for the Kostroma region, assessed the results of conducted in Kostromaenergo activities to improve the reliability of electric grids and power equipment in the period of low temperatures. The Commission members unanimously decided that the enterprise is ready to operate through the winter.

In preparation for the autumn-winter operation period Kostromaenergo’s specialists performed a great amount of work in the framework of the repair and investment programs, modernization and improvement of reliability of operation of electric equipment. They overhauled 22 substations of 35-110 kV, about 125.1 kilometers of 0.4-110 kV overhead power lines, 605 transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV. As at the end of September they cleared 1661.58 hectares of ROWs of 0.4-110 kV overhead power lines from trees and shrubs to prevent failures related to falling trees onto wires.

The branch held 17 trainings of operating personnel to simulate actions at limitations in emergency mode of power consumption in conditions of a sharp decrease in ambient temperature. Emergency supply is stocked at 100%. Means of communication, supervisory process control systems, back-up power sources of the executive office are in good condition and ready to operate in conditions of maximum load. Availability of 104 backup power sources with a total capacity of 1.9 MW was checked.

8 mobile crews of 40 people were created, provided with special vehicles, means of protection and communication, and are ready for emergency response, including in low-temperature conditions. In total, to perform first responding and restoration operations Kostromaenergo can simultaneously involve 102 crews of 507 people, 273 special and all-terrain vehicles.

"The Certificate of Readiness for us - it's credibility, which is necessary to justify. Fully aware of all the responsibility to consumers, Kostromaenergo’s staff will do everything possible to provide them with reliable and uninterrupted power supply during the cold season," stressed Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division director Evgeny Smirnov.
