Tambovenergo is ready for autumn-winter peak loads

23 September 2016 at IDGC of Centre – Tambovenergo division there was a meeting of the interdepartmental commission to assess the readiness of the enterprise for the autumn-winter operation period. According to its results Chairman of the Commission - Deputy Chief Engineer for Operational, Technological and Situational Management of IDGC of Centre Yaroslav Yurikov handed the Certificate of Readiness to Director of the branch Vladimir Syschikov. The Certificate of Readiness to operate during the autumn-winter period of 2016-2017 is a document confirming the availability of the Tambov power engineers to work during the autumn-winter peak loads.

The Commission, composed of representatives of IDGC of Centre, a branch of PJSC "Rosseti" - "Technical Supervision Centre", the Tambov Region Administration, a branch of JSC "SO UES" Lipetsk Transmission Control Centre, the regional offices of Rostekhnadzor and EMERCOM of Russia, assessed the results of activities performed by Tambovenergo to improve the reliability of electric grids and power equipment in the period of low temperatures. The commission members unanimously decided to confirm the readiness of the Tambovenergo branch for the winter operation.

The receipt of the Certificate of Readiness was preceded by serious preparation of electric grid facilities of the branch - the implementation of repair and investment programs, as well as additional measures to improve the reliability of equipment operation.

In the first eight months of this year Tambovenergo performed comprehensive overhaul of four substations of 35-110 kV, about 600 kilometres of 0.4-110 kV overhead power lines, 145 transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV. ROWs of overhead lines of all voltage classes were cleared in the amount of 370 hectares, which corresponds to the planned target during this period.

Employees of the branch were briefed on the specifics of working in emergency situations at low temperatures. 15 specialized trainings were organized for operating staff to work out for introduction of schedules of emergency restriction of an electric power consumption mode in conditions of a sharp decrease in the ambient temperature.

At the moment the emergency supply of Tambovenergo is staffed at 100%. Means of communication, supervisory process control systems, back-up power supply sources of the executive office are in good condition and ready to work in conditions of maximum load. The availability for use of 17 reserve sources of power supply with a total capacity of 0.58 MW was checked.

The branch created 10 mobile crews composed of 60 people, which are equipped with new special vehicles (10 crew vehicles and 10 aerial platforms), are provided with electrical safety devices and personal protection equipment, supplies, means of communications, petrol generators and ready for emergency response, including at low temperatures. Also, if necessary, to perform first responding and restoration operations Tambovenergo can simultaneously involve 82 crews composed of 444 people, 184 off-road and special vehicles.

"Getting the Certificate of Readiness for the autumn-winter operation period of 2016-2017 is an appropriate evaluation of the results of work of our specialists. The branch coped with the task and prepared electric grid facilities of the Tambov region to ensure reliable operation in the winter period," stressed Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Tambovenergo division director Vladimir Syschikov.
