Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division continue implementing measures for prevention of children’s electric injuries. This topic gets particular relevant during school holidays when children are often without adult supervision - in the face of such "freedom" the risk of electric shock cases increases. To prevent them employees of the enterprise conduct electrical safety lessons in schools and children’s camps.
The power engineers held another such lesson for schoolchildren of Semiluksky district - participants of the military-patriotic club "Teen army men". It was held at one of modern power facilities of Voronezhenergo - the 110 kV substation "Kursk", where the children were invited for a tour. 30 "Teen army men" aged from 10 to 12 years participated in the lesson.
Voronezhenergo’s experts explained to the young guests how and where electricity is supplied to them in the house, told them what is dangerous about electrical current and how to handle electrical appliances. The children were introduced to the rules of first aid to the victim, and then they tried to apply this knowledge with a robot simulator "Gosha". At the end of the lesson all the participants received themed books with electrical safety regulations as a gift from the power engineers.
Prevention of children’s electric injuries is one of the priorities of Voronezhenergo in the field of electrical safety. The power company is engaged in this work in cooperation with local authorities. They place on sites of educational, cultural and sports institutions of the region thematic memos and videos, distribute leaflets and posters to inform about the dangers of electric shock. Voronezhenergo annually conducts among students of the region a children’s themed drawing contest, the number of participants increases every year.
Electrical safety lessons are an important component of this work. In 2015 Voronezhenergo’s specialists had more than 370 such sessions, more than five thousand children took part in them. Plans of the branch for this year are comparable to these indicators.
