20.07.2016

Staff of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division in the framework of the prevention of children’s electric injuries continues conducting in schools and children’s summer camps of the Kursk region lessons on electrical safety. Regular sessions were held in the school camps of seven secondary schools of Manturovsky, Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts, as well as in the children’s camp "Sun" in Oboyansky district. More than 350 children of primary school age participated in them.

Experts of Kurskenergo told the children about why you must not fish, make tents, kindle fires near power lines, what hazard electrical appliances pose if they break the electrical safety rules at their use, and how to behave in a thunderstorm to avoid being hit by lightning.

The power engineers also touched upon such a topical subject as photographing of the youth for social networks. For extreme selfie teenagers, and often adults, get on poles, risking to fall from a height, hitting with voltage. And it is in this case not the only danger. As the organizers of the lessons said, electric shock could be also a result of the use of a monopod (selfie-stick) near wires of an operating power line. In no case one may use this gadget and during a thunderstorm, since the metal pod may be struck by lightning.

During the lessons Kurskenergo’s specialists demonstrated to the participants themed videos and visual materials, and at the end of the lesson handed leaflets and memos to children with basic electrical safety rules.

Teachers and educators of children’s health institutions thanked the power engineers for the information content of the lessons and the easy for understanding of the younger generation form of the material. At present, we have already agreed to hold in each of these camps new classes for children from next shifts.

In total, up to the end of the summer holidays Kurskenergo’s specialists will conduct in health camps of the Kursk region another 30 electrical safety lessons, more than 1,000 children will take part in them.
