Kurskenergo ensures normal operation of power facilities in conditions of abnormally hot weather

IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division in connection with the established in the territory of the Kursk region abnormally hot weather strengthened measures to ensure reliable operation of electric grid facilities. According to EMERCOM of Russia in the Kursk region, in the recent few days the temperature in the region has reached +37 degrees.

Throughout this period staff of Distribution Zones of the enterprise performs additional inspections of equipment of substations and overhead power lines (Conductors). They check operation of cooling systems of power transformers, enhanced temperature control of the equipment in the premises of relay boards, communication systems and remote control.

They readjusted schedules of repairs of the equipment with transfer of the work for the period of temperature reduction. If necessary, scheduled repair work is carried out in the morning and evening hours.

Fire safety measures have been enhanced at facilities of the branch. They performed fire-line plowing on the outer perimeter of substations, cleaning of dry grass has been produced in the premises of power facilities. They are conducting unscheduled inspections of equipment and serviceability of primary fire extinguishing means, as well as additional operating staff briefings on the work under abnormally hot weather.

"Currently all power facilities of the Kursk region are operating normally, no interruption in power grids has been recorded. In case of emergency situations Kurskenergo’s operating staff is ready to take all necessary measures to restore power supply of key and vital installations and consumers in the region," stresses First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of Kurskenergo Vyacheslav Istomin.

Due to the increased risk of fires "Kurskenergo" reminds heads of enterprises, organizations and individuals to observe the set in accordance with applicable law boundaries of protected zones of power lines. In the protected zones it is strictly forbidden to build fires, to store fuel and lubricants, to place household waste and garbage. Any violation of the rules of use of territories in the buffer zone of power lines entails a real threat to human life and health, as well as safety of their property.
