Voronezhenergo is preparing to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers in the heatwave

15.07.2016

IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division due to expected unfavourable weather conditions has introduced high alert operation mode. The order of the work in the high alert operation mode was issued to its affiliates and subsidiaries by PJSC "Rosseti" because of the increased risks of emergency situations of natural and man-made disasters at power facilities due to abnormally high air temperatures.

According to General Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in the Voronezh region, in the coming days the average air temperature in the region can reach 37°C with 6-9°C above normal. This weather, according to weather forecasters, can be in the region until the end of July. In this regard, within the high alert operation mode Voronezhenergo is taking all necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers.

For fast elimination of possible technological failures mobile crews of the branch are on high alert. Availability of the emergency stock of equipment and spare parts, availability of vehicles and equipment, performance of mobile diesel generators, as well as the state of primary fire extinguishing equipment at power facilities, the state of first aid kits in the workplace and with working crews have been checked. The Grid Control Centre of Voronezhenergo has introduced special monitoring of changes in air temperature.

Voronezhenergo draws attention of residents of the Voronezh region to the need to comply with fire electrical safety measures at home, in home gardens, as well as in places of active recreation in a heatwave. Poor extinguished fire or a thrown cigarette can ignite dry grass and spread of fire to operating power plants, which would entail a long break in the power supply.

In case of fire detection in the vicinity of power facilities you should immediately inform on emergency number 112, as well as via the round the clock DIRECT LINE OF POWER ENGINEERS OF IDGC OF CENTRE AT 8-800-50-50-115 OR 13-50 (from fixed phones)
