Employees of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division congratulated on the 90th anniversary Nikolay I. Konyaev, a participant of the Great Patriotic War, and a veteran of the Kursk power grid. Representatives of the HR office and the Council of veterans of the enterprise visited Nikolay and gave him presents from the team of Kurskenergo.
On the same day the honoured veteran received a congratulatory telegram with the wishes of health and vigour of the spirit from Russian President Vladimir Putin. "We are really proud of the generation of the Great Patriotic War, which had serious tests and great triumphs. You were never afraid of difficulties, believed in the best. Your selfless labour created the wealth and power of the country," noted the message.
The fate of Nikolay Konyaeva is not different from the fate of many thousands of his peers. In 1943, a 17-year-old boy went to the front. He fought in the air defense forces, defended the Moscow sky, and then he participated in the battles for the liberation of the Baltic States, where he met the Victory Day. His military achievements were distinguished with the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, commemorative medals for the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
After the war Nikolay continued the service, then he worked in agriculture, at the same time he studied by correspondence, finishing ten grades and the institution under the specialty "Electrical Engineer". In 1966 he came to work in the newly formed Konyshevsky Distribution Zone: the ambitious, competent and promising young specialist was immediately offered the position of its manager. Nikolay justified the confidence. He managed the Distribution Zone for 30 years, under his leadership and direct participation many glorious pages were written in the history of the enterprise and the Kursk energy system.
After retiring Nikolay actively participated in the life of Kurskenergo’s team. Meeting with representatives of a young generation of power engineers, he always tried to share acquired over the years in Konyshevsky Distribution Zone knowledge about how to construct energy facilities, the grid infrastructure of Konyshevsky district developed and improved.
Memories of Nikolay on the military time, the most striking events of the professional biography and the history of the development of the Kursk power system are reflected in his creative work. In 2007 he published a collection of poems of Nikolay Konyaev "Stages of Life".

Thanks to their selfless work a strong foundation of the Kursk power grid was laid. And today our veterans continue to contribute to its development, generously sharing their invaluable knowledge and experience with the current generation of power engineers," stresses Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division director Alexander Rudnevsky.
