IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division continues systematic work on the prevention of children’s electric injuries. Its important part is lessons on electrical safety. During the year the power company holds them in educational institutions of the region, and during summer holidays - in summer camps, where schoolchildren rest.
A regular lesson on electrical safety was held in school camps of eight secondary schools of Glushkovsky district and in the youth centre "Monolith" in Korenevsky district of the Kursk region. More than 400 children aged from 8 to 14 participated in the lessons.
During the classes Chief of Glushkovsky Distribution Zone Andrey Shishov, Chief Engineer of Glushkovsky Distribution Zone Nikolay Kirichenko and Chief Engineer of Korenevsky Distribution Zone Mikhail Vinokurov told the children about the rules of behaviour near power facilities and electrical safety in the home, introduced them to the basic warning signs. The schoolchildren learned why it is unacceptable to play near electrical installations, approach broken wires and transformer substations, set up places of rest and campfires near power lines. The lessons were accompanied by demonstration of visual materials and videos. Personal protection gear of electrician stirred great interest with the children: hard tops, insulating gloves and boots, which they could try on. Upon completion of case studies, their participants received from the power engineers the books "Energolandiya" as a gift.
Teachers and educators thanked the power engineers for organizing the lessons, noting that the prevention classes were not only entertaining, but also useful, which allowed to attract the attention of a large audience of children of different ages.
In total, during the summer holidays Kurskenergo’s specialists will conduct about 30 electrical safety lessons in health camps of the Kursk region, they will involve more than 1,000 children.
