IDGC of Centre - Orelenergo division conducts systematic work to detect and prevent cases of non-contractual and non-metered electricity consumption. Employees of Distribution Zones of the branch together with representatives of law enforcement agencies regularly make raids to detect cases of energy theft. Their efforts bring effect. From the beginning of the year power engineers revealed 60 cases of electricity theft in the Orel region. The total damage to Orelenergo amounted to more than 190 thousand KWh, or more than half a million rubles. For comparison - this is the monthly consumption amount of such settlements as the small village of Nekrasovka and the small village of Kireevka or the small village of Gat and the village of Lavrovo.
According to the facts of violations acts of non-contractual and non-metered electricity consumption and protocols on administrative violations were compiled, which were subsequently submitted to the court. Most unscrupulous consumers preferred to pay unauthorized consumption in the pretrial order. The amount of debt repaid by them is about 370 thousand rubles. The remaining cases have already been adjudicated in favour of Orelenergo.
In pursuit of free electricity offenders are willing to risk their lives and health and well-being of others. For example, a resident of Sverdlovsk district with the unauthorized connection to the power grid de-energized several houses of his neighbours, and only by sheer luck as a result of a short circuit there was no fire. There are other dangerous precedents as well.
