Students of Smolensk Polytechnic College had an excursion at the training centre of Smolenskenergo

9 June 2016 at the base of Smolensk City Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division there was an excursion for students of Smolensk Polytechnic College as part of the Program to reduce risk for injury to third parties at facilities IDGC of Centre for 2016 - 2017.

The students were told about the company, briefed on safety, showed protective equipment of power engineers, and then introduced to the indoor and outdoor training centre.

During the tour everyone could get acquainted with electrical equipment that is used today in the company. At the centre there are simulators of electric distribution grid facilities - substations, power lines, special equipment, as well as classrooms, equipped with computers, communications, equipment to provide first aid to victims.

"The centre recreates full range a typical pattern of distribution grids of 0.4-6-10 kV, there power engineers are trained, improving their professional skills," said the leading engineer for safety of Smolensk city section of the production safety and production control office of the branch Alexander Kunevich.

In turn, the chief of Smolensk City Distribution Zone Anatoly Firsov stressed that "such trips to energy facilities are not only a key event for prevention of injury of third parties at power facilities for students, but also one of the areas of HR policy of the branch aimed at attracting young promising staff to the company. The system personnel policy includes meetings of students with experts of the company, in which they learn about the specifics of the electric power industry. "At the end of the tour the chief of Smolensk City Distribution Zone Anatoly Firsov invited students after graduation to work at Smolenskenergo.
