Schoolchildren of Kostroma went the "safety route"

In Kostroma there was an action for schoolchildren, dedicated to safety issues. It was organized by General Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia for the Kostroma Region, IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division, the Kostroma regional branch of All-Russian Voluntary Fire Organization, the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kostroma Region and rescuers of the "Rescue service, civil defense and emergencies" of the Kostroma region. The action was attended by schoolchildren of city schools at the age of 7 to 14.

The action took place on the territory of school №30 and was organized in the form of a routing game "Safety Play Train", each car of which housed a separate team of schoolchildren. The kids had to "pass" five stations, at each of which experts of the mentioned departments and organizations told them how to behave in a particular difficult situation.

Representatives of Kostromaenergo met the participants of the action at the station "Electrical Safety". Safety Engineer of Occupational Safety and Production Control Alexey Andreev told them about the dangers posed by electrical current, about why they must not go into the transformer box and hide under a tree in a thunderstorm. The children were showed warning signs that are placed on the equipment and explained their significance, demonstrated CPR and first aid to the victim with electric shock using the simulator "Gosha".

"We hold a joint safety campaign every year, and children always show great interest to it," says the head of the school camp at school №30 of Kostroma Elena Shutova. "On behalf of the team of teachers and parents I would like to sincerely thank all specialists involved in its organization for giving our children a safe summer."

Work on the prevention of children’s electric injuries is done by employees of Kostromaenergo continuously, including during holidays. Annually they hold in schools, schoolyards and recreation camps about two hundred lessons and routing games for electrical safety.
