Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division on the eve of the summer holidays organized the "Month of Electrical Safety" within which they held in schools of the Tambov region a series of lessons on prevention of children’s electric injuries. The syllabus was approved by the Regional Department of Education and Science. In total, during May the lessons were held in 52 schools of 23 districts of the region, over 2,500 schoolchildren took part in them.
The power engineers told the schoolchildren, why they must not run a kite near a high voltage power line, climb an electricity pole, approach at an unacceptably close distance wires, introduced them to the warning signs that are placed on electric equipment. During the classes they also showed schoolchildren themed movies, taught them practical skills in first aid to the victim with electric shock. In order to consolidate the knowledge acquired each participant of the lesson received specialized brochures and posters as a gift.
Lessons of electrical safety are one of the most important measures of the program to reduce risks of injury to third parties at power facilities of Tambovenergo. During the school year the power engineers hold them in educational institutions, and during the holidays - in children’s health camps. This summer the power engineers will hold about 30 electrical safety lessons, more than a thousand children and adolescents will be their participants.
