IDGC of Centre - Orelenergo division summed up the professional skills competition among crews for repair and maintenance of equipment of 35-110 kV substations. Teams of the Southern, Eastern and Northern sections of the substation service of the high-voltage grids Office of Orelenergo competed for the title of the best.
The competition program included 7 theoretical and practical assignments: Among them - repair, replacement and adjustment of electrical equipment, testing of knowledge of existing rules and regulations on the basis of the software "ASOP-Expert", extinguishing the fire in a bay of switchgear and control gear, release of a victim with electric shock, providing first aid and performing resuscitation on the robot simulator.
According to the results of all stages the winner of the competition was the crew of the Southern section of the substation service under the guidance of the master Alexander Chelishev. The second was the team of the Eastern section of the substation service. The third place was taken by the crew of the Northern section. Professional achievements of all the crews are highly appreciated by the management of the branch and awarded with valuable prizes.
"Competitions are an important stage of training, where not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills of personnel, ability to work in a team and to act effectively in a critical situation are subject to strict examination. In addition, it is a powerful incentive to further improvement of the level of qualification, additional acquisition of knowledge and quality of work," stressed Deputy Chief Engineer for Operations, Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Orelenergo division director Igor Kolubanov.
