Kurskenergo introduces the younger generation to the energy industry of the region

Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division conducted a tour for first-year students of the department "Power supply" of Southwestern State University (SWSU). The event was organized within the framework of agreements on cooperation of Kurskenergo with specialized educational institutions of the region in the field of professional training.

The tour began at the Museum of History of Energy of the Kursk region. The future power engineers were told about the history of formation of the Kursk power system, the people who made a significant contribution to its development. Then they visited the Grid Control Centre of Kurskenergo.

Chief of the operations and technology service of the branch Roman Dryuchin, incidentally, himself is a graduate of the department "Power supply", told the students about how the management of electric grid facilities is performed, and clearly demonstrated the broad functionality of one of the best in Russia video walls. Guests of Kurskenergo saw how modern technology helps operating personnel on-line monitor the work of power facilities and first responding crews, obtain data necessary for analysis and decision-making.

"Today several hundred graduates of our department work at Kurskenergo. And when we come here, I surely acquaint our students with their predecessors - talented and motivated professionals who currently work as heads of departments, services, offices, determine priority areas of the enterprise development," emphasizes a professor of the department "Power supply" of SWSU Oleg Rybalkin. "During the meetings with them my students get a clear idea of how the region’s power system operates, and what professionals the industry needs."

Excursions to facilities of the branch - it is not the only area of cooperation of the power company with SWSU. head of Kurskenergo Alexander Rudnevsky is a member of the State Examination Commission of the department "Power supply". Specialists of the branch help professors improve training programs for future power engineers, taking into account the processes occurring in the industry. Students of the department have their educational, industrial and pregraduation practice in production units of Kurskenergo. So, this summer, the company plans to take more than fifty interns - students of courses 2-4.
