As part of the agreement on training of the working personnel between IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division and Smolensk Polytechnic College on 5 May 2016 production practice of the college students started at Smolenskenergo. 29 students of the second and third year of the specialty "Electric stations, grids and systems" and "Operation of electrical and electromechanical equipment" for 2 months will practice directly in production, in Distribution Zones and structural subdivisions of the branch.
In the course of the practice the future power engineers will become familiar with the core activities of the company, will be able to acquire practical skills of the power engineering profession. The practice is taking place under the supervision of experienced professionals-chiefs of Distribution Zones, leading mentors-masters of Smolensk, Smolensk City, Kardymosvsky, Glikovsky, Pochinoksky, Monastyrschinsky Distribution Zones, as well as the western section of the substation service, Smolensk section of relay protection and automation, the western section of the diagnostics service. Close cooperation of the branch with educational institutions of energy specialization - it is a necessary element in the formation of personnel reserve of the company and the entire industry. And practice in production helps identify promising graduates who in the future will be able to join the ranks of the branch’s staff.
