Kurskenergo teaches children the basics of electrical safety

On the eve of the summer holidays specialists of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division carried out electrical safety lessons in schools of the Kursk region. Events are held in the framework of the program to reduce risks of injury to third parties at power facilities. During May the power company has organized more than 70 such classes, more than three thousand schoolchildren have taken part in them.

Kurskenergo’s experts tell schoolchildren about handling appliances in the home, how to behave near energy facilities. Demonstrated during the course of lessons themed videos and posters help schoolchildren secure information. Children are also introduced in the classroom with rules to provide first-aid to a victim with electric shock providing them the opportunity to work on a special simulator "Gosha". Electrical safety memos are placed on information boards of educational institutions.

"We try to communicate clearly and understandably convey to children the rules handle electric current. We hope in this work we will be assisted by parents and teachers, because eventually it can help save the health and lives of children," stresses Deputy Chief Engineer - Head of production safety and industrial control Viktor Sokolov.

With the advent of the school holidays the power company will continue to carry out thematic lessons on electrical safety in summer camps. Total in June-August, more than 30 such classes are scheduled to take place.
