Belgorodenergo reconstructs five high-voltage feeding centres

24.05.2016

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division has started to implement a program to improve the reliability of equipment and supply centres. This year five substations of 35-110 kV will have comprehensive reconstruction at the same time. The volume of capital investments will be more than 418 million rubles.

The power company will fully modernize the located in Stary Oskol 110 kV substation "Pushkarnaya" with installed capacity of 80 MVA. Constructed in the 1980s, it is still today one of the key supply centres, which feeds six residential neighbourhoods and dozens of industrial and social facilities in the north-eastern part of the city.

The power company will improve equipment of the supply centre, replace the overage equipment, install modern means of remote control. Instead technically obsolete isolating switches and short-circuiting switches of 110 kV more reliable gas-insulated circuit breakers of 110 kV will be installed at the facility. All indicators of the substation in real time will be controlled by special software of microprocessor relay protection, ensuring instant response to emergency situations. As a result of the reconstruction about 35 thousand people will be provided with more reliable electricity supply.

This year other four substations of 35 kV will be comprehensively reconstructed, intended for power supply of household, industrial and agricultural customers in districts of the region.

The substation "Oktyabrskaya" provides electricity to the eponymous settlement in Belgorod district with a population of more than 2.5 thousand people, "Belyanka" - as many as 15 settlements in Shebekinsky district, a poultry farm and social facilities. The substation "Viktoropol" feeds a part of the settlement of Veidelevka and 9 villages and hamlets, "Mandrovo" - 11 settlements of Valuisky district, a poultry farm, schools, hospitals and kindergartens. In total, these substations feed about 13 thousand inhabitants in four districts of the region.

At the facilities it is provided for the construction of outdoor and indoor switchgear, a substation control room, complete upgrade of all operation and management systems, including elements of relay protection and automation, central alarm, a commercial metering system, etc. As for equipment, the choice will be made in favour of technical solutions aimed at improving the reliability and energy efficiency, increasing the operating period, the availability of diagnostics and condition monitoring, as well as the possibility of equipment remote control.

Operational control of all power facilities will be carried out at the Grid Control Centre of Belgorodenergo. This will reduce the time of switching, turning equipment off for repair and elimination of emergency conditions.
