Power engineers of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division in educational institutions of the region conducted a series of energy-saving lessons. Activities were designed to explain in simple terms to children how important it is to properly use energy resources. Their main goal is to describe the main methods of energy saving and respect to energy resources. This, in the opinion of experts, is to be understood already at school.
Classes in schools are generally held among schoolchildren of forms 1-6. For example, in late April - early May, staff of Khislavichsky Distribution Zone of Smolenskenergo held a lesson at Cherepovsky School, and in Hill-Zhirkovsky Distribution Zone the power engineers conducted two classes on energy saving at Pechatnikovsky and Nikitinsky Schools. Also the electrical safety and energy saving classes already passed at school #12 of the city of Smolensk and at school #2 in the city of Velizh. By the end of the school year there will be a few lessons in schools.
"In my opinion, it is very important from an early age to explain the basic things, and then this base will be increased with additional knowledge. Right now we are thinking about the future, about the future of our customers, who the children will become in 10 years. The first step in the work on the promotion of energy saving - simple tips that will be useful when schoolchildren become adults. How competent and economical consumers the today’s boys and girls will be depends on us and our work," stressed head of energy conservation and energy efficiency of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division Dmitry Serenkov.
