Voronezhenergo reduces losses in grids

19.05.2016

IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division summed up the work to reduce electric energy losses in 1Q 2016. The level of losses over the period under review amounted to 258.4 mln kWh (or 10.59% relative to the supply to the grid), which is 2.1 mln KWh lower than the same period last year. This is due to a slight (0.30%) reduction in the grid load, and successful implementation of the Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Program by Voronezhenergo, as well as the targeted Program to reduce electric power losses, providing a range of technical and organizational measures.

In particular, redistribution of loads and turning off of unloaded transformers at substations give tangible effect (in 1Q it made it possible to reduce the loss by more than 990 thous. kWh), installation of a larger wire section on overloaded lines and installation on lines of self-supporting insulated wire (the reduction of losses amounted to 18 thous. kWh and 13 thous. kWh, respectively). Raids on non-metered electricity consumption, organized by Voronezhenergo, are also effective: their effect exceeded 3 mln kWh in the 1st quarter.
