"From the war - to the energy sector", remembers a veteran of the Great Patriotic War and Belgorodenergo Vasily Nosatov

"Learn well - and you will be a general," this message was given by a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a recipient of award for Excellence in Power and Electrification of the Ministry of Energy of the USSR Vasily Nosatov to a pupil of gymnasium №19 of the city of Belgorod Vladislav, who, together with staff of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division and classmates came to congratulate the Victory soldier on the Great Day.

Vasily dedicated more than 50 years of his life to the power industry of Russia, worked as an inspector of Gosselenergonadzor of the Ministry of Agriculture, chief engineer Selelektrostroy, for many years headed the electrical service of Belgorodenergo. Military merits of the war veteran were marked with Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd class, three medals "For Courage", medals "For Victory over Germany", "For Victory over Japan" and other awards, labour awards - "Excellence in Power and Electrification of the Ministry of Energy of the USSR, a medal "Veteran of Labour".

And representatives of the Youth Council, Veterans’ Council, the trade union of the branch and pupils of gymnasium №19 came to congratulate the veteran. Chairman of the Veterans’ Council of Belgorodenergo Liliya Dubrovina applauded Vasily for his military and labour feats and on behalf of all the power engineers gave financial aid collected within the charity event on the eve of the holiday. Then Vasily shared his memories of the war with the young people.

In 1942 Vasily Nosatov was mobilized to Borisoglebsk Military Aviation School named after V.P. Chkalov, but did not get there. Near New Oskol a bombing started, all scattered around, and when they came together, they found no accompanying documents. In the reserve regiment, stationed in Yelets, he mastered the radio operator specialty, but most of the war he was a scout-infantryman.

During the battle at the Kursk bulge he was in the army, but was not involved in the fighting - his regiment was in reserve of the main command. Vasily had his fire trial at Sumy. Then he was in Chernigov and crossed the Dnieper. In the battle for the liberation of Baranovichi he was wounded in the right leg. After a short stay in hospital he again was in the frontline. He got the second wound in the left leg in January 1945 near Koenigsberg during intelligence operations and met victory in the hospital near Voronezh.

Throughout the war Vasily Nosatov went four times to catch a valuable prisoner, he participated in the operation "reconnaissance in force", was a paratrooper in a tank breakthrough of the enemy, crossed the Niemen. Then he fought against Japan: served in a reserve regiment, which was stationed in the Far East, Birobidzhan, commanded a platoon of an anti-aircraft artillery division. After that he served in Kamchatka.

In peacetime he graduated from the Kharkov Institute of mechanization and electrification of agriculture, he was distributed to head construction of Kazaneshskaya HPP in Moldova, after which more than fifty years of his life he gave to the energy sector, 17 of which - to the Belgorod power system.
