Smolenskenergo’s employee won the contest of patriotic song "Let’s bow to those great years"

 27 April 2016 employees of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division took part in the contest of patriotic song "Let’s bow to those great years", which was held in the branch of MPEI in the city of Smolensk.

The main objectives of the contest was to support existing creative student and youth groups and performers of works of civil and patriotic themes, education with the youth of citizenship and patriotism, respect for the cultural heritage of Russia.

According to the contest participants had to prepare a patriotic theme song dedicated to the Great Patriotic War and the 55th anniversary of the first manned flight into space.

Smolenskenergo at the contest was represented by Engineer of category 2 of the grid connection customer department Daria Panfilova with the song "Mercy", Engineer of the department of marketing and customer interaction Alexandra Vasilashko with the song "Goodbye, boys" and Electrician for operation of distribution grids of degree 5 from Safonovsky Distribution Zone Alexander Arkhipov with the song "Letter to father".

All spectators appreciated the excellent performance of beautiful songs by the power engineers, and the jury noted vocal abilities of Alexandra Vasilashko, giving her the first place.

"Of course, I have not for the first time appeared in the walls of the native higher educational institution, which I graduated a few years ago. But I participated in the performers’ contest of patriotic songs for the first time, and for the first time represented at this stage not my course or profession, but the company where I work," shared her impressions Alexandra Vasilashko. "There were a lot of young artists, the competition was great."

The jury along with representatives from the university included Smolenskenergo’s staff - Head of HR Management Department Elena Veselova and Leading Specialist of IT Section, a constant participant of competitions of creativity of power engineers of IDGC of Centre, Artistic director of the musical group "Energy" Vadim Mustafayev.

The relations of friendship and long-term cooperation between the university and the energy company have become a good tradition. Students have the opportunity to pass practice on the site of Smolenskenergo and work in the third labour semester as a part of a students’ construction crew at Smolensk power facilities. Employees of the energy company in turn have retraining and attend various thematic courses within the walls of the university.

Over the years the branch of MPEI in Smolensk and Smolenskenergo began to implement joint creative projects and to find new forms of cooperation. For example, for two years already the higher educational institution and the power company have jointly conducted solemn meetings and awarding of the best power engineers and teachers on the eve of the Power Engineers’ Day. And the participation of Smolenskenergo’s employees in the patriotic song contest, organized by the branch of MPEI in the city of Smolensk, may eventually be another traditional option of interaction.
