Tverenergo held the single Safety Day

IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division held the Safety Day, which was taken part in by managers and specialists of the office of industrial safety and production control, services of the technical unit, as well as representatives of the executive management of the branch.

The aim of the event was to prevent occupational injuries, improve the culture of industrial safety and health of employees.

In Distribution Zones of Tverenergo there were commissions working to check the performance of labour protection rules by employees, as well as identification and correction of violations, which could lead to traumatic situations or damage to the equipment.

Organization of maintenance of vehicles was checked, the order in household and service premises, the workplace and assigned areas, the presence of first-aid kits in the workplace and their staffing with medicines.

With staff of departments of Tverenergo theoretical questions on the basic requirements of health and safety were worked out. Experts discussed the circumstances and causes of the origin of accidents in the electric power industry, the effectiveness of injury prevention.

Staffing of crews with protective equipment, tools and work clothes, their status, the procedure for storage and transportation were checked.

In all Distribution Zones in the training centres they worked out organizational and technical measures for the safe production of work with the analysis of violations, demonstration work permits were conducted. Workshops at the centres included practicing replacement of a high-voltage fuse in package transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV, performance of portable grounding connection to a 6-10 kV overhead line and removal of the victim from the overhead line pole.

As a result of the measures, the commissions drew up acts, which reflect the identified violations and deficiencies, as well as planned activities to address them, with specific deadlines for eliminating and responsible persons.

"Analysis of the status of work on the creation of healthy and safe working conditions, improvement of the process, labour discipline, culture and labour productivity in the branches of IDGC of Centre is ongoing, and the Safety Days are organized on a monthly basis," commented Alexander Chumachenko, Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division director. "All this contributes to improving the effectiveness of prevention of electric injuries and compliance with safety regulations."
