Tambovenergo reliably operated during the winter peak demand

20.04.2016

IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division summed up the autumn-winter operation period (AWP) of 2015-2016. The branch operated during the months of maximum load in a stable way, showing a good performance in terms of ensuring reliable power supply to consumers. During this period the failure rate in the grids of Tambovenergo decreased by 25.8% compared to the AWP of 2014-2015. Average time of eleimination of failures decreased by 11.8%, and average time of interruption of power supply to consumers - by 9.6%.

The key to the reliable operation of Tambovenergo first was the implementation of the repair program plans. The company’s specialists repaired 208 transformer substations, which is 70% above the planned values, 170 10/0.4 kV transformers and 1,190 km of 0.4-110 kV overhead lines (0.5% above the annual plan). They completed a comprehensive repair of four 35-110 kV substations. They cleared 533.84 hectares of ROWs along overhead power lines from trees and bushes, which is 110.13% of the targets.

An important event in preparation for the autumn-winter operation period was to check the technical condition of electrical equipment and eliminate faults in cables and overhead lines. Particular attention was paid to socially important facilities: kindergartens, schools, hospitals and clinics.

To eliminate failures in providing electricity supply to consumers the branch had 100% stocked emergency reserve, distributed among 17 Distribution Zones and 10 sections of substation and power line services. If necessary to eliminate possible technological disturbances the branch can simultaneously use up to 82 crews (444 persons) and 184 off-road and special vehicles. Generator sets with a total capacity of 160 kW can provide backup power supply of socially significant consumers of the Tambov region.

"The operation through the autumn-winter period is the main test of strength for the power company. The team of Tambovenergo passed it with dignity. Now the branch is already beginning preparations for the AWP of 2016-2017. As in previous years, our experts will make every effort to ensure operating through the winter peak loads successfully, and providing electricity to consumers reliably and smoothly," stressed First Deputy Director – Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division Igor Polyakov.
