13.04.2016

IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division continues to perform systematic work to prevent children’s injury at electric grid facilities. Its important component is safety lessons that the power company conducts in educational and social institutions of the region. Specialists of the company held another class together with employees of General Directorate of EMERCOM in the Kostroma region in Kostroma social rehabilitation centre for orphaned children.

The power engineerstold the children about the properties of electric current, the danger it poses, introduced them to the rules of behaviour near electric grid facilities. For clarity, the pupils of the centre were demonstrated pictures of power facilities and warning signs. The children were reminded of the need for careful handling of electrical appliances. Particularly the lesson organizers noted: in comparison with other types of injuries, electrical ones are more likely to result in severe burns and deaths. Therefore, we must remember that power facilities are not a place to play. Memos, cartoons and movies, colouring books, which Kostromaenergo’s experts presented the children and teachers, should help in this.

Staff of General Directorate of EMERCOM in the Kostroma region continued the safety topic by informing the children about the rules of behaviour in case of fire, on the road and at home.

The power engineers and rescuers interact at work not only with children, but also with adults. This is clearly demonstrated by the involvement of Kostromaenergo’s experts in the meeting of deputy heads of district administration for civil defense and emergencies, which took place in the regional department of EMERCOM of Russia. Memos on electrical safety on the water, in the protected zones of power lines, when working with electrical equipment were sent to all districts of the Kostroma region. Joint work on injury prevention effectively allows to make the skills of safe behaviour of children and adults.
