IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division summed up the implementation of the Environmental Policy Program in 2015. Its main components are ensuring safe waste management, water management, and air protection. Last year, 4.289 million rubles were directed for these purposes.
In order to ensure the protection and rational use of land the branch carried out work on separate storage of waste on the territory of industrial sites in special containers and tanks. Records of waste and logging of movement of all types of waste were made. Sites of temporary storage of waste were equipped according to the established environmental legislation requirements. Regularly the waste was transferred to specialized organizations that have a license for waste management for recycling, disposal, use and waste storage.
Technical activities were also carried out for decommissioning and disposal of capacitors containing PCBs (polychlorbiphenyl). To reduce the negative impact on the environment due to the possibility of getting oil in the soil, 156 oil circuit breakers, oil receiving devices, transformers, draining devices were overhauled, oil-filled equipment was repaired. In order to protect wildlife on 35-110 kV overhead power lines 102 improvised devices to scare away birds were installed.
35 employees responsible for environmental protection activities in 2015 were trained under the program "Ecological safety of power grid enterprises".

Timely implementation of the Environmental Policy Program allows the grid company to minimize the negative impact on the environment," stresses the head of industrial safety and production control of "Voronezhenergo" Natalia Stolpovskikh.
