As part of the next stage of training of staff of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division, a group of electricians operating distribution networks completed training at the training centre of the branch.
In classrooms of the Point of training of operating personnel, equipped with modern equipment, tools and visual aids, the employees received theoretical knowledge in their specialty, studied questions of occupational safety, fire and electrical safety.
On the training ground, based on a 6-10 kV switchgear assembly, Kurskenergo’s specialists worked out skills of diagnostics of units and parts of power equipment. In the occupational safety sector of the training centre the electricians trained in the use of protective equipment and first aid at electric shock on the simulator "Gosha". At the end of the training the electricians were tested with the software package "Centurion".
The results showed that during the period of study the trainees received practical skills and also rules to prepare their workplace, ensuring the safety of operations.
Further training of employees of Kurskenergo is a continuous process. Thus, from the beginning of the year more than 400 specialists have been trained. Among them there are electricians first responding mobile crews, masters of crews operating distribution grid equipment, specialists of relay protection, automation and metrology, electricians to repair switchgear. By the end of this year another 450 employees of the branch will improve their skills.
Given that the activities of power engineers involve high risk, the short-term training program includes sessions on the topic: emergency psychological assistance. The task of trainers is to teach staff how to combat with a stressful situation.
"The training and retraining programs involve both young professionals and experienced power engineers that is necessary to maintain their professional skills and develop new technologies used in the company," stressed First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division Vyacheslav Istomin.
