06.04.2016

IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division has begun preparing for mass repair and maintenance work. It is performed by the power company each year from April to October, and is an important condition for ensuring the reliability of operation of electric grid facilities in the region in the coming autumn-winter period (AWP).

This year, as part of the repair campaign the power company will repair over 1,275 kilometres of 0.4-110 kV overhead power lines and 457 transformer substations. Comprehensive overhaul will be performed at eight substations of 35 kV and 110 kV. In order to prevent failures it is planned to clear 1,343 hectares of ROWs of overhead lines from trees and shrubs.

The main objective of Voronezhenergo now is to ensure the readiness of staff of all departments to massive repairs.

Within the preparation crews are trained on safe working practices taking into account features of execution of work, operational maintenance of electrical installations in the spring and summer period. At the training centres of the branch there are now classes held close to real conditions. They are practicing CPR and first aid. All units are being checked for availability with crews of uniform, safety equipment, devices, supplies and pharmaceuticals. The state of vehicles and machinery is being assessed.

The repair campaign will begin as soon as the appropriate commission checks readiness of the crews for safe performance of work and hand over the branch the certificate of readiness.

In total, the repair and maintenance work will involve more than 300 crews of Voronezhenergo.
