An important activity of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division is grid connection of social facilities.
In 2015 Smolenskenergo’s specialists provided electricity to a boarding house for the elderly and disabled in Dneprovsky rural settlement of Novoduginsky district (connected power of 75 kW). The power company connected another home for the elderly and couples to the power grid in the village of Molgino in Novoduginsky district of the Smolensk region. Ceremonial opening of the institution took place on 31 July last year. The boarding house became native to 44 people who have settled there. In total the residential building is designed for 54 seats, with four double rooms designed for wheelchair users, seven - for couples, and nine - for lonely old people.
During the year four kindergartens were also connected to the grid in the city of Smolensk, in the city of Vyazma, in the village of Kapyrevschina of Yartsevsky district and the village of Mikhnovka of Smolensk district with total capacity of 526.5 kW. Kindergartens in these districts are in great demand, as the existing preschool institutions clearly cannot cope with the needs of the rapidly growing areas of the settlements.
In addition to the kindergartens and boarding houses in 2015 the power company completed the power grid connection of several sports facilities. Work was carried out under the contract of grid connection of a new sports and recreation complex in the village of Temkino, the universal sports hall will be able to house up to 40 people at the same time. In addition, on the first floor of the new sports centre there will be fitness equipment for people with disabilities and a sports hall for team sports: basketball, volleyball, football, badminton and tennis, and on the second floor - weight benches and table tennis equipment. Last year it also completed grid connection of such social facilities as an indoor sports facility in the city of Yartsevo of the Smolensk region (LLC "Smolintertorg LTD") and a tennis court in the city of Safonovo (LLC "StroyInvestProekt"). Total maximum capacity of the three connected facilities was 199.74 kW.
As for medical facilities the grid connection work was completed in buildings of the Traumatic Centre of Regional State Budget Health Care Facility "Clinical Ambulance Hospital" and LLC Medical Centre "Guinea". Both health care facilities are located in the city of Smolensk.
