Voronezhenergo is preparing for the fire-dangerous period

30.03.2016

Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division have started to prepare the electric grid to operate through the fire-dangerous season in 2016. The main task is to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply in the conditions of increased risks of fire at power facilities. To this end, the branch every year from April to October takes a number of preventive measures. This year their costs amount to more than 8 million rubles.

Among the priority there is development of cooperation schemes and notification systems between power companies, fire departments, emergency services, regional forestry enterprises and local administrations. In anticipation of the summer, with the participation of all services there will be trainings to simulate the action to extinguish fires in premises of substations and protected zones of overhead lines.

To avoid risk of fire in dry grass and woodland near energy facilities, specialists of Voronezhenergo perform fire line plowing around substations of 35-110 kV and digging around wooden poles of 0.4-10 kV overhead lines. The branch will also hold unscheduled check of the status of fire safety, equipment with primary fire extinguishing means of buildings, structures, premises and motor special vehicles. Particular attention will be paid to the training of personnel. All crews of Voronezhenergo will undergo required briefings on rules of conduct in case of fire and use of primary fire extinguishing equipment.

With farmers, on whose territory overhead power lines pass, awareness will be raised to comply with the Rules of establishment of security zones of electric grid facilities and special conditions of use of land located within the boundaries of such areas, and responsibility for the fire protection state of ROWs of overhead lines.

Power engineers of IDGC of Centre draw consumers’ attention to the need to comply with fire electrical safety rules at home, in home gardens, as well as in places of active recreation.

A poor extinguished fire or a thrown cigarette can ignite dry grass and spread fire to the existing power installation, which would entail a long break in the power supply.

In case of fire found close to power facilities, please, immediately report it on the emergency number 112, as well as the ROUND THE CLOCK DIRECT LINE OF POWER ENGINEERS OF IDGC OF CENTRE AT 8 800 50 50 115 OR 13-50 (from landline phones)
