29.03.2016

In Voronezh a working meeting of Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division Director Ivan Kleimenov and Head of "Children’s Radio Voronezh" Victor Emelyanov was held. The parties discussed prospects of cooperation in matters of electrical safety promotion among children and adolescents in the region.

During the meeting Ivan Kleimenov spoke about the company’s activities and its electric grid facilities, as well as of the prevention work being done to reduce electric injury risk among the younger generation.

To this end, Voronezhenergo installs fences near power facilities, changes dilapidated wooden doors of substations for metal ones, places warning signs on poles. In addition, Voronezhenergo’s staff regularly conducts lessons on electrical safety in schools and children’s camps in all districts of the region. With the support of the city authorities and the regional Department of Education, Science and Youth Policy the energy company raises awareness by posting on the sites of educational, preschool, cultural and sports institutions relevant memos, videos, information stands - posters. The branch also holds an annual children’s drawing contest on the theme of electrical safety among schoolchildren, thus attracting attention to the event of not only children but also parents and teachers.

In turn, Victor Emelyanov said about the federal radio station "Children’s Radio" and the social policy of the Voronezh representation, which is aimed at realization of mass children’s educational and informative projects. He said that joint efforts with Voronezhenergo in the field of electrical safety promotion could be logical continuation of this work.

The meeting resulted in an agreement on cooperation between the two companies. In the near future they will begin to develop thematic electrical safety programs and their dubbing to be on the air of "Children’s Radio Voronezh".

"Voronezhenergo makes a lot of effort in order to make electrical energy as safe as possible for our children. With the support of the radio station this work will become even more effective. Children better perceive information that is heard in their own language and in the form of a game, especially since the Children’s Radio is very popular among the younger generation," stressed Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division Director Ivan Kleimenov.

Head of "Children's Radio Voronezh" Victor Emelyanov said that filling the air with educational and informative programs is a priority aspect of the radio station development. "Information videos on electrical safety will be a good platform for the formation of vital knowledge of our young listeners," he stressed.

Voronezhenergo reminds of electrical safety rules, compliance with which will help children and young people preserve their life and health:

To avoid accidents, associated with electric injuries, you are strictly forbidden to:

  • climb poles of overhead power lines and roofs of carriages, houses and buildings, which are close to electrical wires;
  • fly kites, radio-controlled model airplanes or play near power lines;
  • penetrate into transformer substations or over fencing of electrical substations and transformers;
  • disassemble or attempt to repair electric appliances on your own, insert foreign objects into the socket.
  • open the door of switchboards and other electrical devices.

Mortal danger:

  • not only touching, but also approaching to lying on the ground broken wire of a power line closer than 8 metres;
  • touching both electrical and any pipes, radiators, metal structures connected with the ground, electrical current can pass through the human body if insulation of the electric appliance is damaged;
  • approaching or touching the trees, on the crown of which wires of overhead lines fell, especially in wet weather – they are conductors of electrical current;
  • using switches, sockets, plugs, bell push buttons with broken lids;
  • touching household electrical appliances with wet hands.

Remember:

  • a man with electric shock as a result of convulsing limbs cannot free himself from live parts under voltage. It is necessary to take urgent measures for the rapid liberation of the man from the effects of electric current: first of all, you need to turn off the switch, unplug the appliance from the wall outlet.
