As part of the Energy Efficiency Program, implemented by IDGC of Centre – Voronezhenergo division, the modernization of outdoor lighting networks in the Voronezh region is under way, using modern energy-saving technologies.
So, in 2015 2,065 energy-saving lighting fixtures were installed in more than 40 settlements of the region. Replacement of street lighting fixtures was performed in the first place on the main streets, in places with increased risk for pedestrians, near socially important facilities, as well as in crowded places.
"The number of lighting fixtures installed in 2015 allows local authorities to save about 20% of energy costs, while increasing the illumination area and the strength of the light flux. Even taking into account the increased costs for the purchase of LED lighting fixtures (they are more expensive than conventional only at 12-15%), installation and maintenance, the installation of modern outdoor lighting systems pays back in 2-3 years," stressed Deputy Director for Sale and Development of Services of IDGC of Centre – Voronezhenergo division Pavel Yanshin.
In accordance with Federal Law of 06.10.2003 N 131-FZ "On general principles of local self-government in the Russian Federation" local government is responsible for organization of construction and reconstruction of outdoor lighting networks.
On request from the local authorities, IDGC of Centre – Voronezhenergo division, in turn, provides a full range of services for the maintenance and development of street lighting systems of roads, areas adjacent to public and residential buildings and structures with the use of modern energy-efficient technologies.
And the work under the Energy Efficiency Programs will continue in 2016. In districts of the region experts of the branch are planning to install 2,500 advanced energy-saving lighting fixtures.
