Organization of safe work was checked at "Lipetskenergo"

Check of safe organization of work of staff is the main theme of the Safety Day held at IDGC of Centre – Lipetskenergo division.

During the meeting a commission of technical experts of the branch checked availability and effectiveness of unscheduled checks of crews, held for the purpose of monitoring compliance with the rules of personnel, production and job descriptions, maintenance of operating modes set for equipment.

Heads were also interested in the organization of emergency response and fire fighting trainings, aimed at consolidating the fire and technical knowledge about dangers of the technological process, skills in the use of fire protection means, ability to safely and correctly operate in case of fire and to provide first aid to victims. In accordance with the "Rules of work with staff in the Russian power industry companies" an employee who receives an unsatisfactory rating of actions during the training, should pass it again. If the results are not satisfactory again, the employee will not be allowed to work independently without proper training and additional knowledge test.

The check also touched upon control over authorizations to independent work of newly hired employees or having a break from work for more than 6 months. The heads inspected the presence of approved training programs for a new post, the relevant regulations on training, redundancy and authorization to independent work.

A special place was given to the check of work at a height requiring preliminary technical-technological and organizational measures, as well as strictly observing occupational safety requirements for the use of auxiliary equipment - ladders, platforms, claws and man-holes for electricians.

Cross-cutting issues of the Safety Day were availability and proper condition of means and devices of individual protection, fire fighting equipment, maintenance of operational technical documentation, conducting classes in training centres, etc.

"The necessary conditions for safe operation are strict implementation of labour protection requirements of the Rules, good theoretical and excellent practical training of staff, conscious discipline and responsibility at all levels of the company and, of course, the constant control. With this purpose, we hold Safety Days," commented the head of production safety and production control of "Lipetskenergo" Maxim Yashin.
