The Kostroma region is preparing for spring floods. The maximum intensity of flooding this year will be in the end of March – beginning of April, in general it will affect Nerekhtsky and Soligalichsky districts. In general, high water will be weaker than in previous years. However, the power company is fully ready for it: the rise of water level in the period of melting snow always brings an additional threat not only to reliable power supply, but also safety of citizens in the vicinity of power facilities.
IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division reminds residents of the Kostroma region of the need during the flood to comply with safety rules being near electrical installations. Citizens are strictly forbidden to be near power lines, caught up in a flood zone or fishing in the protected zones of power lines. In no case one may approach damaged power facilities – it is dangerous to life.
During the flood the power company asks heads of educational institutions and parents in particular to strengthen control over children. Citizens are also kindly requested not to take independent action to eliminate damage to power grid equipment, but to report about a power supply failure in the grids of 0.4-110 kV immediately the operator on duty in Distribution Zones, or by "hot" line telephone of IDGC of Centre at 8-800-50-50-115.
