Kostromaenergo reduces electricity losses in grids

16.03.2016

IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division summed up the work to reduce electric energy losses in grids in 2015. During this period the company managed to reduce the level of losses by 11.8 million KWh relative to 2014, representing 0.23% of the total electricity supply to the grid.

It was possible to achieve such a result thanks to the effective implementation of Kostromaenergo’s Program to reduce electricity losses and Program of energy conservation and energy efficiency. The documents provide for a set of technical and organizational energy saving measures. They include, in particular, grading of phase loads in distribution networks of 0.38 kV; replacing wires for larger cross sections on overloaded power lines and taps to houses for self-supporting insulated wire; replacement of overloaded and underloaded transformers; instrumental checks of metering units in order to detect and prevent facts of non-metered energy consumption.
