In 2015 Smolenskenergo spent about 5 million rubles to implement environmental measures

IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division summed up the implementation of the 2015 environmental program. During that period the Smolensk branch of IDGC of Centre spent about 5 million rubles to implement measures in the field of ecology. Of this amount, 2,285 thousand rubles were transferred for payments for negative impact on the environment (20 thousand rubles - for standard emissions, 1.629 million rubles - for standard effluents limitation and 636 thousand rubles - for disposal of hazardous waste).

Over the past year 39 activities were implemented, including arrangements for regulation and control of negative impact on the environment.

The main tasks in the field of environmental policy of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division for 2015 are: organization of primary waste accounting, logging of formation and movement of waste; organization of timely delivery of waste disposal; receiving hazardous waste certificates carrying out production control in the field of waste management; bringing places of soil contamination into compliance; monitoring compliance with the MPC of harmful impurities in the discharges into the sewer; definition of the component composition of the waste and its hazard class, etc.

The program of reconstruction and modernization of power facilities contributes to the protection of environment and environmental risk reduction. The branch successfully implemented its program to replace oil circuit breakers with gas-insulated and vacuum ones, repaired oil receivers of transformers, and performed major overhaul of oil circuit breakers.

One of the areas of activity of the branch is to equip power lines, poles and insulators with special bird protection devices. During 2015 they installed 39 special bird guard devices at 35-110 kV overhead lines.

IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division operates according to the current draft standards for maximum permissible emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere and draft code provisions for disposal of waste and limits for its storage. The branch focuses on professional development in the field of environmental protection of personnel. 48 employees of the branch were trained in 2015.
