04.03.2016

The Office of housing and utilities of the Uglich Municipal District Administration expressed gratitude to Uglichsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre – Yarenergo division for the prompt elimination of consequences of a snowfall.

16 February in the Yaroslavl region there was heavy snowfall. For one day in the region in the form of wet snow more than half of the monthly norm of precipitation fell. The heavy wind and sticky snow led to the fall of trees onto power lines, breaks and whipping wires of power lines in a number of districts. Uglichsky district was one of the most affected - power was supplied in some settlements with interruptions.

Power engineers of Uglichsky Distribution Zone of the Yaroslavl branch of IDGC of Centre, together with the territorial department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and the district administration immediately began to restore the power supply in the disaster-hit settlements. Emergency crews arrived at the scene immediately, quickly and smoothly, in a continuing snowfall, eliminated the causes of failures.

"Specialists of Uglichsky Distribution Zone are well prepared and know how to apply their knowledge in a particular situation, the stock of material and technical resources for emergency response was formed in full. Thanks to the well-planned actions Uglichsky Distribution Zone could neutralize the adverse effects of severe weather conditions in terms of power supply of socially significant facilities of Uglich Municipal District (boiler rooms, hospitals, kindergartens, boarding schools)," stated the text of the letter of thanks of the district administration addressed to IDGC of Centre – Yarenergo division director Alexander Kornilov.
