Power engineers of Smolenskenergo are prepared to meet bad weather

According to weather forecasters in the Smolensk region January 28, 2016 one expects ice slick, sticking of wet snow, the ambient temperature rising to + 5°. Threat to the normal operation of power facilities may be sticking of wet snow on wires and tree branches falling on wires of overhead power lines.

Due to unfavourable weather conditions in the territory of the Smolensk region power engineers of IDGC of Centre are taking a number of measures that will prevent the negative effects of changes in the weather. In the event of emergency situations at power grid facilities IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division will take all measures to eliminate them as soon as possible.

The branch is continuously collecting actual meteorological data in areas of large power facilities, has organized more frequent control of the work of equipment of substations, provided the operational readiness of personnel to conduct first responding and restoration operations. With major technological violations of electricity supply to consumers 196 crews (1,041 persons) and 306 vehicles of the Smolensk branch of IDGC of Centre are ready to begin first responding and restoration work. The power engineers of Smolenskenergo have also additionally checked and prepared redundant power supply sources for work.

Special control over the work of power equipment has been set, fire safety measures have been enhanced, and interaction with the territorial divisions of EMERCOM and executive authorities, MES of Centre of JSC "FGC UES", and other territorial power grid organizations has been organized.

All socially important facilities are operating normally. IDGC of Centre operates the twenty-four hours straight line of power engineers at 8 800 50 50 115, which one can call to get information on the status of restoration operations and some expected time of their completion.
