Smolenskenergo summed up the work on the development of professional skills of staff in 2015

The whole system of organizing training of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division in 2015 was aimed at maintaining a high professional level of employees, creation of conditions for their career and personal growth. The main areas of training were occupational training (and retraining) of personnel for a specialized or a related working profession, as well as skill improvement of employees.

In 2015 managers and specialists of Smolenskenergo could be retrained to perform certain types of work, to be able to be nominated to the personnel reserve, as well to improve skills. All the personnel was provided with occupational training and certification on eligibility to perform a special kind of work, including operation and performance of works in the facilities supervised by Rostechnadzor, testing and measurement, organization of transportation and release vehicles on the road, work permit as an instructing resuscitator, personnel training with methods and techniques of first aid in case of accidents, and more.

Following the results of the year 992 people were trained in various fields: 253 heads, 168 specialists and 571 workers. Total training costs amounted to 7,282.77 thousand rubles.

Special attention in preparation for the operation through the autumn-winter period was paid to the training of personnel of the service of mechanization and transportation. In particular, 93 drivers in September-November were trained in defensive driving techniques, 46 people were trained and certified for admission to work as a machinist of bulldozers, six - as an excavator operator. Four staff members of the service were trained as trainers and mentors and in the future they will be able to test and train newly hired drivers with defensive and counteremergency driving techniques. 38 employees were trained and certified as responsible persons for the release of vehicles on the road.

Also in 2015, 59 people improved their skills with testing their knowledge of safety in the operation of power installations, another 45 employees were trained and certified for the right to work with hazardous waste, and 56 employees - for the rules of fire safety.

The training of staff was carried out in most cases in regional universities. All the themes and areas were related to ensuring better implementation of professional duties by the employees, with special attention paid to occupational health and safety, skills and methods of safe work performance.

In order to provide better training, recruitment and development of staff the branch signed an agreement on long-term cooperation with a number of educational institutions in the region. As a result of co-operation in 2015 one can note that in "NRU "MPEI" in the city of Smolensk 100 leaders and specialists of Smolenskenergo improved their skills in various programs, 10 leaders and specialists gained new skills, and 2 employees were enrolled in the correspondence department under the program "Power Supply".

26 people improved their skills, another 78 employees of working professions specializing in power supply underwent retraining in "Smolensk Polytechnic College".

Agreements were also concluded with "Smolensk Polytechnic College", "Vyazemsky Polytechnic College", "Vyazemsky Railway Technical College", and "Safonovsky Polytechnic College."

The main purpose of the set of implemented events is qualitative performance of obligations to consumers.
