Kostromaenergo increases the reliability of the main feeding centres

10.11.2015

IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division summed up the realization of the target program to improve reliability in 2015. As part of the program, in particular, three significant feeding centres were reconstructed: the 110/35/10 kV Substations Susanino and Krasnoye, which are the largest sources of electricity supply in Susaninsky and Krasnoselsky districts of the region and the 110/35/10 kV Substation South, which supplies electricity to a large micro-district of Kostroma.

During the reconstruction of the power facilities various categories of equipment were replaced with more modern designs. Specifically 12 transformers were replaced, relay protection and automation devices were modernized, and new operating current control units were installed. All the work was performed without de-energizing consumers with a phased decommissioning of equipment.

"The new equipment meets modern safety requirements, has a larger service life compared with the same counterparts. This can significantly increase the reliability of electricity supply, as well as reduce operating costs for repair and maintenance," stresses Deputy Chief Engineer - Head of high-voltage grids office Evgeny Kozlov.
