Belgorod power engineers installed 14,500 meters in houses and apartments of consumers

22.10.2015

This year IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division has installed more than 14,500 new electricity meters in households of residents of the Belgorod region. The number of consumers, who do not have meters, has decreased by 5.5 thousand. 39,000 people realized advantages of competent metering and prudent use of electricity this year. All of them did state verification of their meters or replaced them with modern ones, compliant with legal requirements.

According to statistics, 17,000 of 715,000 electricity customers in the Belgorod region are calculated for resources used according to the norm. These are mainly residents of Stary Oskol, Belgorod and Gubkin. More than three thousand customers without meters are in the private sector of individual housing estates.

Another approximately 180 thousand residents of the Belgorod region continue to use meters with expired state verification, accuracy class 2.5 or lower and service life of about 30 years. Such devices have low precision and pose a real threat of fire. Therefore, when receiving an act of instrumental check that recognizes the meter unserviceable, the consumer is obliged within three months to replace it with a modern one with accuracy class not lower than 2.0.

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division reminds that in accordance with paragraph 5 of Article 13 of Federal Law № 261 dated 23.11.2009 "On energy saving and increasing energy efficiency ...", owners had been obliged to do so, as well as to equip houses and apartments with electricity metering devices already by July 1, 2012.

Consumers, who have working electricity meters of accuracy class 2.5 or lower, should pay attention to the remaining calibration interval that is specified in the data sheet, and then upon its expiry or failure of a metering device is required to replace the damaged meter. Owners need to do it at their own expense on the basis of para. 145 of the RF Government Resolution №442 "On the functioning of retail electricity markets, and the full (or) partial restriction of electric power consumption mode" dated 4 May 2012.

Anyone, who decided to replace or install modern electricity meters, power engineers wait in the Centres and points of work with customers located in every district of the region. The service cost includes the price of the device and work on its installation or only work if you have purchased your own meter. For more information, please, call the direct line of power engineers at 13-50.
