On the 1st of September specialists of IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division congratulated schoolchildren of the Voronezh region on the Day of Knowledge and reminded them of the basic rules of electrical safety. Classes, organized by Voronezh power engineers, were held in 21 educational institutions. One of them was conducted in the city gymnasium named after Andrey Platonov in Voronezh.

The branch staff told children about the safe handling of household appliances, the rules of behaviour near power facilities, and reminded them how to act when they have electric shock. At the end of class, they answered the questions of the children and presented them with themed books, rulers, bookmarks, timetables and stickers to help consolidate their knowledge.

"In today’s world, where electricity is everywhere around us, be sure to know and follow the rules of electrical safety. This applies to both children and adults. We thank the professionals of Voronezhenergo for organizing such useful and informative sessions," stressed Irina Lukyanovich, Deputy Director on educational work of the gymnasium named after A.V. Platonov.

Voronezhenergo organizes measures aimed at the prevention of children’s electrical injuries throughout the year as part of a comprehensive program, whose main objective is to promote compliance with the rules of electrical safety, to eliminate the risk of electric shock of third parties being close to power facilities and to prevent accidents, including those involving children. During the summer holidays: experts of the branch attended over 20 children’s holiday camps, about 1,500 children took part in classes organized by them. In total, during the year, according to the plan, they expect to hold more than 270 electrical safety lessons for 8,000 schoolchildren.
