IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division was among the organizers of the children's route game "Train of Safety", which took place in Kostroma on the site of school #30. Power engineers held the game together with representatives of the General Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia in the Kostroma region, Federal Drug Control Service of the Kostroma region, rescuers of Regional State Public Institution "Rescue, civil defense and emergency service" of the Kostroma region, Kostroma regional branch of All-Russian Voluntary Fire Organization. It was attended by more than 200 children aged from 7 to 14.
At five stations where the "Train of Safety" stopped, children received information on how to act in case of any emergencies. In particular, at the station "Electrical safety" Kostromaenergo’s employees told them about the dangers posed by electrical current, about why they cannot run a kite near a high voltage power line, climb a pole and approach wires at an unacceptably close distance. The children learned about the importance of warning signs on power equipment, as well got acquainted with the rules of behaviour in the vicinity of existing installations. At the training robot - simulator "Gosha" the power engineers showed them methods of providing first aid to an injured person with electric shock and allowed them to perform cardiac massage.
"Summer holidays are time when children during the day are often left without adult supervision, so carrying out explanatory work to prevent electrical injuries in this period is especially important. Power engineers prepare a series of events and activities for children, parents and teachers, which they conduct all summer," stresses the head of public relations of Kostromaenergo Tatyana Drozdova.
In total, during the summer of 2015 Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre will hold 5 route games in city camps, 4 activities in suburban health camps and 30 lessons on electrical safety in schools.
