Belgorod power engineers lit the way to school

08.06.2015

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division lit a section of Boulevard of the First Salute in the regional centre, leading from the residential sector to lyceum №38. Now the road for schoolchildren from evening classes and clubs will be safer, which is especially important in autumn and winter when it gets dark early.

Belgorod Distribution Zone constructed 250 metres of cable lines of 0.4 kV and installed five floor lamps with modern energy efficient lamps such as HPS, equipped with high pressure sodium lamps HPS with power of 70 watts. These fixtures are already widely used in the Belgorod region and have proven cost-effectiveness. Their main advantages are low cost, long life and significant light output (up to 110 lumens per watt). One such lamp, compared to conventional mercury, can save up to 110 kWh of electricity.

They started the installation of a network of outdoor lighting of the dark areas of the Boulevard at the request of residents who paid attention that in the evening hours on the territory adjacent to the school it gets dark and dangerous. Now Belgorod residents have one more place for family walks.
