Belgorodenergo: "Levushkin’s Encyclopedia" to tell children about electrical safety

29.05.2015

With the June issue of the regional children's magazine "Big recess" the attachment on electrical safety "Levushkin’s Encyclopedia" will be released, prepared by IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division together with the publishing house "Mir of Belogoriya". The new book in a popular and exciting way will tell children about handling electricity and the dangers of those who violate these rules. It will be exciting and very necessary reading during the summer holidays, when it is not easy to fully engage children into activities and control of their location.

"Levushkin’s encyclopedia", which includes themed games, colouring pages, tests, will complement lessons and briefings on electrical safety, which Belgorod power engineers plan to conduct during the holidays in health camps and schools, kindergartens and rehabilitation centres. At them engineers of occupational safety and production monitoring will explain to children the rules of handling electrical appliances and norms of safe behaviour near power lines and substations; together with children learn examples of possible mistakes and tell how to avoid them. From June to August more than 70 preventive activities have been scheduled, and since the beginning of the year on the initiative of Belgorodenergo and with the assistance of the Department of Education of the region about 200 have already passed.

In addition to the preventive work, everything possible is done to prevent the unauthorized entry of people into premises of power facilities. At transformer substations signs are installed warning of the danger and alarm at the door opening. In the case of a wire break in the power line special equipment in a matter of seconds will switch the line off. And yet, before the holidays the power engineers necessarily make an extraordinary inspection of the electrical equipment in the areas adjacent to the places of children's recreation sites, check the safety of locks and fences, integrity of alarm systems and video surveillance cameras.

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division encourages teachers and parents to work together to take care of the safety of the younger generation, in time to remind the simple truth that can save lives and health of a person.
