Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Bryanskenergo division took part in the All-Russian action "St. George’s Ribbon". The event was organized by the Youth Council of the branch and for the second consecutive year was held in the "mobile" format: the company's employees travelled on a festively decorated trolley-bus to Bryansk memorable places associated with the history of the Great Patriotic War, at bus stops handing townspeople the symbol of Victory.
Residents gladly welcomed the Bryansk power engineers. Motorists honked, welcoming the trolley-bus, and especially braked at the stops to take the ribbon. Passers-by, walking to take the orange-black symbols, thanked the organizers of the event. In total during the campaign more than a thousand St. George’s ribbons were distributed.
"We wanted to create an atmosphere of celebration for the people - and, judging by their reactions, we succeeded. At the same time, we ourselves received good positive emotions!" one of the organizers of the rally, a member of the Youth Council of Bryanskenergo, Igor Smirnov, shared his impressions.
The purpose of the patriotic action "St. George’s Ribbon" is to remind the present generation of the unprecedented feat of our people in the Great Patriotic War, about what price we got the victory for. The black ribbon symbolizes the ashes of war, orange - the eternal flame of memory. The action covers dozens of countries in Europe, Asia and America. Only in the first six years of its implementation over 50 million St. George’s ribbons were distributed around the world. This year the action "St. George’s Ribbon" marks its tenth anniversary.
